After your procedure, you will be moved to the post-operative recovery area where our staff will care for you until you are awake and comfortable. It is not unusual for you to feel a little sleepy or lightheaded for several hours following your procedure. Before you leave the facility, you will be given instructions for your care at home and you will be discharged as soon as your condition is stable. After you have returned home, be sure and follow your doctor’s orders regarding diet, rest, medication, and activity. A nurse will be calling you one to two business days after your surgery to check on your recovery. You will also be given a patient satisfaction survey to complete and return.

For your well-being, we recommend you wait at least 24 hours before you:

  • Drive or use power equipment
  • Eat a heavy meal
  • Consume alcoholic beverages
  • Take medication not approved by your physician
  • Sign important papers or make significant decisions
